Sailor Moon: The Miracle

Cinema 4-D Theme Park Attraction at Universal Studios Japan

I led the art direction for Sailor Moon: The Miracle, a groundbreaking Cinema 4-D attraction that introduced a fresh art style to a 25-year-old franchise. This experience featured a unique character created exclusively for Universal, blending 3D visuals with physical effects like seat motion, water sprays, and smoke.

The attraction went on to win an innovation award for its integration merchandise with media, setting a new standard in interactive, multi-sensory theme park experiences. The Sailor Moon merchandise alone made 170% of Universal Cool Japan’s 2018 sales target.

After the success of the first Sailor Moon Cinema 4-D experience, I got the chance to lead art direction on Sailor Moon: Moon Palace, the sequel. Here’s a sneak peak.
