Pixar’s Cars Daredevil Garage Toys-to-Life Mobile Game
Cars Daredevil Garage lets kids scan their die-cast cars and watch them come to life! They race through wild tracks, perform crazy stunts, and build their own garage—bringing over 160 cars into the action with state-of-the-art scanning tech.
Leading the creative approach across design, art direction, storyboards, and UI/UX for Pixar’s Cars: Daredevil Garage, I had the chance to partner with Pixar on this app that let users scan over 160 Mattel die-cast cars to bring them to life in a series of high-speed stunts across various tracks. I was onboard from concept to launch, earning a 2015 Tillywig Toy & Media Award.

My storyboards, pitched to Pixar and Disney stakeholders, were built around one central concept: fun! Even “failed” stunts had to feel enjoyable for kids. I suggested creative ways for failure to be satisfying—knocking over coffee mugs, crashing through stacked pennies, or flying out of a second-story window.
